HKT (SEHK: 6823) – HONG KONG, 27 July 2022 – HKT is the first Hong Kong-based service provider to receive SD-WAN + Cloud Network Convergence Award from the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology (“CAICT”), a scientific research institute directly under the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (“MIIT”), at SD-WAN Excellence Award 2021.
In today’s era of digital transformation, many enterprises are seeking to speed up cloud adoption to maximise scalability and business growth. Backed by cloud-based capabilities, HKT’s SD-WAN solutions simplify network complexities and reduce network operation costs, benefiting enterprises with multiple offices, branches and locations. Together with Managed Secure Access Service Edge (“Managed SASE”), the combined solutions allow for seamless integration of additional cybersecurity capabilities into cloud-based frameworks for end-to-end protection, enhancing corporate network security from the ground up.
The Award demonstrates HKT’s significant role in the adoption of SD-WAN and cloud technologies. HKT has also been accredited with SD-WAN Ready 1.0 and 2.0 certifications, which further demonstrate that HKT’s SD-WAN with Managed SASE solutions have attained technical compliance with the latest SD-WAN standards in mainland China with guaranteed security performance.
HKT has empowered a number of enterprises in different sectors, especially retail, to successfully accelerate their digital transformation with comprehensive SD-WAN solutions. The Company has designed and deployed SD-WAN solutions for Chow Tai Fook Jewellery Group with more than 6,000 stores across mainland China, including over 2,700 stores in Tier Three and beyond, and to support cloud-based Smart Retail Applications at its stores. HKT also designed a mobile app to recruit and manage over 10,000 engineers to ensure fast and easy SD-WAN deployment within a tight timeframe. Throughout the project, HKT broke multiple records, such as installing SD-WAN networks at over 100 shops in one single day.

In another project, HKT delivered one-stop managed SD-WAN solutions with a unified management platform to Anjoy Foods Group, a well-known frozen-food company in mainland China with over RMB 9 billion turnover in 2021. This project has enabled the client to monitor data transmission in real time, streamline network management and reduce costs. Anjoy Foods said that HKT's SD-WAN solutions have helped spur its digital transformation, offering the company a centralised management platform with high visibility that improves network planning and monitoring while ensuring the stability and security of its network.
