Hong Kong Diamond Warehouse (“Diamond Warehouse”) wanted to build a new business App with more functions to enhance and monitor warehouse information. The goal was to use the new App to increase employee productivity by optimising business processes and operations.
The primary challenge was the 2-week schedule for development. This required a lot of effort to collaborate with different project stakeholders to meet the deadline. There were also concerns about security controls, risk, and compliance approaches as well as IT resources, thus Diamond Warehouse seek HKT managed cloud solution.
Modernising Application Infrastructure
HKT’s cloud professional team worked against the clock on this project. We adopted Infrastructure-as-Code to shorten deployment time, built a well-defined cloud environment and helped Diamond Warehouse to design and deploy the business application with AWS services, such as EC2, RDS.
HKT provided project management services for Diamond Warehouse to manage all solution parties. We also provided cloud professional service and connectivity service, including deployment of a well-architected AWS environment for the App and adopting of best practice for the AWS infrastructure design with various services like WAF, CloudWatch, CloudTrail, and enforced backup and security settings.
Empowering Business by Managed Services
After deployment, HKT continued to empower Diamond Warehouse by providing 24/7 support and monitoring with Amazon CloudWatch on cloud capacity and utilisation. In case of the event of any abnormalities, we offered appropriate remedial actions.
Throughout the project, HKT proved its ability to handle cloud application integration, from design to deployment, and building to operation. We were not only managed to deploy the entire AWS environment on schedule for the App that could deliver the expected results, but also helped Diamond Warehouse to improved application and cost performance.
